This workshop will address the strands of Language, Literature and Literacy from the AC:E with direct references to NSW Syllabus for the Australian Curriculum: English K-10. Participants will:
* gain knowledge of grammar at clause, sentence and whole text level
* understand the features of effective writing
* understand the different literacy demands made in different subject areas
* learn how to teach writing explicitly
* learn how to develop and apply assessment criteria
* evaluate their own students' writing
* plan effective teaching strategies to meet emergent needs.

articipants are asked to bring along a few samples of their students' writing to be used in this workshop.
