Participants in this course will have the unique opportunity to:

  • Engage in a range of activities designed to facilitate understanding of the concept-based approach and its links to the syllabus.
  • Plan for a quality English unit that addresses the learning needs of their students, utilising a mind-mapping strategy that will be modelled in the course.

To tailor this workshop to your context, please bring:

  • The syllabus, downloaded or in hard copy 
  • Two examples of quality literature, only one of which can be a picture book or novel (the other might be a play, poetry, non-fiction, film, website, TV show, podcast, etc.)
  • A current English unit of work, not developed using the concept-based approach.

 

             

This course is NESA Approved

Completing this course will provide 5 hours of F2F Professional Learning, addressing  2.1.2, 2.2.2, 2.3.2, 3.2.2, 3.4.2 and 6.2.2 from the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers.
