Dr Rod Campbell awarded AM for enduring passion in literacy teaching

PETAA is pleased to congratulate Dr Rod Campbell AM for having been awarded Member (AM) in the General Division of the Order of Australia in an investiture ceremony yesterday at Government House in Townsville, Queensland. Rod is well known to teachers and educators in the field of literacy and has given a great deal to the field over many years, having served on ALEA National Council for 11 years (1984–1994) and as ALEA National President from 2001 to 2002.’ In quoting from the ceremony yesterday, Rod was awarded an AM:

‘For significant service to education, particularly to literacy as a practitioner, academic and author, as director of education through literacy, as co-author of books on teaching English literacy and grammar, and as a presenter for 4MBS classic FM in Brisbane.’

Rod has also been a Professional Learning presenter in recent years for PETAA and will be the presenter and moderator of our forthcoming PETAA online course, Teaching Knowledge for the Art and Craft of Writing.
