Evaluating Augmented Reality Apps for Primary Literacy Education: Case Study using The Gruffalo

Co-recipient of the 2019 PETAA Research Grant, Dr Lynde Tan explains what the key evaluation criteria are that teachers should use when selecting their own AR app for use in the classroom. She then provides an example from their classroom research conducted with Year 1 students, based on the fabulous picture book The Gruffalo, by Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler. Please see the main PETAA website for Lynde and her team’s shortlist of great apps classroom teachers can use to improve literacy outcomes!
