Moving from Explorers of Text Types to Writers
Timothy Warwick, Acting Principal, and Eron Chapman, Assistant Principal, Gowrie Street Primary School, joined PETAA for this case study video on how they influenced change in their reading and writing programs in their school. Gowrie St Primary is a fantastic mid-sized school in Victoria, with approximately 250 students, 30% of which identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander and 20% who are EAL/D students. Hear from Eron in this presentation on how they used Immersion from Cambourne's Condition of Learning chart, applied to their literacy program, with a focus on moving students from readers of narrative texts, to confident and capable writers of narrative texts.
